Our History
The Hope Center, established November 29, 2004, got it’s start when Pamela Barquest realized God’s call on her life to provide help and resources for those in need in and around the Bulverde/Spring Branch community. It began as a non-profit agency that worked with greater Comal County agencies to help “bridge the gap” between those in need and in crisis, and those agencies and entities that can provide help. Since that time the Hope Center has grown to also collect goods and services, which they provide to folks who are going through hard times.
The Hope center has also given people a place to donate their time and, in many ways, has united the community in the effort to bring help to many through fund-raisers, garage sales, canned food drives and more!
Recently the Hope Center partnered with the San Antonio food bank, expanding their reach into the community and giving them even more tools to do the work that God has called them to do. The Hope Center desires to continue to be a beacon of light in the community, and plans to one day open new locations and bring on more staff.
